Privacy Policy

Kompani is built for friends planning trips together. We collect the least we can, we don't run ads, and we never sell your data. Here's the whole story.

What we collect

Account: your name and email (via Google sign-in, or a magic-link email for guests). Trip data: the things you and your group enter — dates, availability, stays, preferences, expenses, itineraries, house info. Calendar free/busy: only if you connect Google Calendar, and only busy/free times — never event titles or details. Basic usage/diagnostics: so we can keep the app working.

How we use it

To run the app: show your trips to your group, calculate splits and settle-ups, and send the notifications you'd expect (like a reminder to pay someone back). That's it. We do not sell your data, and we do not show ads.

What your group can see

Trip members can see shared trip details. Some things are deliberately private: a family's budget cap and the dollar amount behind a budget veto are never shown to other families. You control what you add.

Email

We use your email to sign you in and to send trip-related nudges — most importantly, gentle reminders about money owed. You can expect these only for trips you're part of.

Analytics

On our public pages (this site and the About and guide pages) we use Google Analytics to understand how people find and move through Kompani, and Microsoft Clarity for aggregate heatmaps and session replay that show us where the site is confusing. Clarity masks text and inputs by default. We deliberately do not load analytics or session tools inside your trips, where your family details, money, and calendars live. We also record a few product milestones — such as a trip being created or settled — to see whether the app is actually helping. We don't sell this data and we don't use it for ads.

Sharing & providers

We use trusted infrastructure providers (hosting, database, email delivery, Google sign-in) strictly to operate Kompani. We don't share your personal information with anyone for their own marketing.

Your choices

You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account and its data by emailing us. Disconnecting Google Calendar stops any further free/busy access.

Kids

Kompani is used by adults to plan family trips. Children don't have accounts; a parent may list a child's first name and age for planning (e.g. nap windows, kid-friendly splits). We don't knowingly collect data directly from children.
